I took the opportunity the other day to attend an event that Jaws Days and the Mashup Awards had collaborated on. The Ideathon is a community focused event where members from all types of occupations get together and consider its future. In order to make JAWS Days more fun, the theme of this event was to create a service we wish we had available.
私は先日、JAWS DAYSとMashup Awardsのコラボイベントに出席しました。
本イベントは様々な職種を問わないメンバーが集い、 コミュニティの未来を考えるアイディアソンイベントです。
3月12日のJAWS DAYSをもっと楽しむために「あったらいいな」といったサービスを自由に発想します。
I love events like this. It’s a great chance to meet people within the community, exchange ideas, and get some experience presenting (which helps with Lightning Talks!). The only other event I’ve been to that remotely resembles this was our company’s Hackathon last year. It was two days of intense teamwork and a whole lot of fun. I figured this couldn’t be much different…
私はこういうイベントが大好きです。
コミュニティメンバーに会えるし、アイデア交換ができるし、発表する経験を得る大チャンスです（LTができる！）。
私がいままで行ったことがあるイベントは、このイベントとはぜんぜん別の、去年私達の会社でやったハッカソンでした。
去年のハッカソンは、強烈なチームワークで2日間とても楽しかったです。
このイベントも会社のハッカソンとはそんなに違わないだろうと思って楽しみに参加しました。


We first had an ice breaker where we drew the JAWS-UG logo from memory. Everyone properly drew the shark in the right direction with correct proportions. Mine however…

We did some word associations with the words “community” and “JAWS Days.” From the words we picked at random we ended up with…
その後、「コミュニティ」と「JAWS Days」というワードで連想ゲームをしました。
その中から私がランダムに選んだものは。。。

While focusing on these words and thinking about the future of the JAWS-UG community, we decided on the idea of a “Riding” Talk service. Using our app you can call a bus but in order to ride you must get sufficient points from a LT you do on the bus. The points translate into miles which are used as you travel to your destination!
これらの言葉を中心にJAWS-UGコミュニティの未来について考えつつ、私たちは「ライディニングトーク」というサービスに決めました！
私達のアプリでJAWSDAYS参加者はバスを呼び止めることができますが、バスに乗るにはLTをして十分な採点ポイントを獲得しなければなりません。
採点分だけバスに乗ることができます！
All the teams did a fantastic job given the 60 min time limit.
60分間の制限時間があったのにチーム全員がよく頑張った。
One team made an app for people wearing glasses (they won first place).
一つ目のチームはウェアラブルメガネのアプリを発表しました（投票で1位）。

An app to tell you if a restroom is crowded or not.
他には、トイレが混んでるか知らせるアプリを提案していました。
